This status comes from a staff of protection, a protection charm, or by being zapped with protection by an ally such as a unicorn or goblin mystic. It absorbs damage from most sources until the shield expires or is depleted. Whenever the shield aborbs damage, the amount of shielding remaining is reduced by the damage. Each turn, the shielding effect gets weaker and can absorb less damage. All shielding effect expire in around 20 turns at most.
The strength of the shielding from the staff or the charm depends on the enchantment level of the item. Shielding from an ally is equivalent to that of a +3 staff and will absorb about 7 damage. Shielding from an enemy will absorb about 17 damage.
