A natural crevice in the floor periodically vents scalding gouts of steam.

A steam vent looks identical to the gas outlet of a paralysis trap and is similar to a gas trap, but there is no trigger. Steam is simply released from a floor vent at random intervals. Putting the cursor over a steam vent will distinguish it from the paralysis trap.

Scalding steam is as damaging as caustic gas but disperses more quickly than other gases do.
