Transference is an intrinsic ability that allows monsters to replenish their health when they land a successful hit on a non-inanimate target. The health they regain is proportional to the damage dealt. There is a slight oddity with this ability; hostile creatures always regain health equal to 90% of the damage dealt, but for allied monsters, this is reduced to 40%. The player can gain this ability by wearing a Ring of Transference. The proportion of health that they regain (or lose, if the ring is cursed) is dependent on the enchantment level of their ring(s), but is never less than 1 HP.
