Your staffs will recharge at an accelerated rate in the energy field that radiates from this ring. Cursed rings of wisdom will instead cause your staffs to recharge more slowly.

The Ring of Wisdom's description will tell you the rate at which staffs recharge as a percentage of the normal rate. The formula for this is:

100 * 1.3 ^ enchantment level Rounded down

This results in the following recharge rates:

Enchantment Level Recharge Rate Recharge Time (most staffs) Recharge Time (obstruction/blinking)
0 100% 500 1000
1 130% 385 769
2 169% 296 592
3 219% 228 457
4 285% 175 351
5 371% 135 270
6 482% 104 207
7 627% 80 159
8 815% 61 123
9 1060% 47 94
10 1387% 36 73
11 1792% 28 56

At enchantment level 27, all staffs would recharge instantly.

Strategy[]

Generally speaking, it is better to enchant your ring of wisdom than any single staff, if you are trying to maximize the overall recharge rate of your staves. However, using more enchants on your staff(s) gives you a larger charge reserve, which is more useful when fighting a pack of enemies than having a high recharge rate, and higher level staves have better effects. Theoretically, if you are willing to use practically all of your enchants on your ring of wisdom, you could reach such a high recharge rate that you gain almost 1 charge per turn, in which case having a larger charge reserve is no longer important (for example, a level 19 ring can charge a level 4 staff at a rate of slightly more than 1 charge per turn).

Single staff[]

If you care only about a single staff and attempting to maximize its recharge rate, that is, if you don't care about improving the effect, you should generally enchant your staff to level 4, and use the rest of your enchants on your ring of wisdom. This holds true in almost all cases where you are going to use 3 or more enchant scrolls in total on your ring and staff.

If trying to maximize effect (as some staves have more effect per charge at higher levels), you should enchant your staff to level between 4 and 8 depending on the staff and your strategy.

More than 1 staff[]

When you have more than 1 staff, and you are trying to maximize the recharge rate per turn of all of the staves combined, you should use all of your enchants on your ring of wisdom. However, keep in mind that it takes a level 19 ring to charge a level 4 staff at 1 charge per turn, level 20 ring for level 3 staff, and level 22 ring for level 2 staff.
